Recording Vitals information is one of the Core measures (Core 8) of Meaningful Use Stage 1; however, this is not mandatory for certain EPs. Depending on the EPs’ nature of service, they can exclude “blood pressure,” or “height and weight,” or both while generating MU-1 criteria.
To exclude Core 8 from MU-1 report:
| 1. | On the top menu bar, click Meaningful Use. |
| 2. | In the Meaningful Use Stage-1 Report tab, locate the “Exclusions in MU for Specific Specialties” section. |
| 3. | If blood pressure is not in the scope for your practice, select the Exclude Blood Pressure check box. |
| 4. | If height and weight are not in the scope for your practice, select the Exclude Height & Weight check box. |
| 5. | If blood pressure, height, and weight are not in the scope for your practice, select both the Exclude Blood Pressure and the Exclude Height & Weight check boxes. |
| 6. | Click the Save & Generate Report button. |
